I hope NYCHA kicks them out, and that the IRS takes all their money from the income they gained from this illegal endeavor.

I was coming to post this very article but you beat me to it. Seriously, not only are they living in apartments paid for by taxpayer money, they are making tax free income off the backs of the very people who paid for their apartments. What infuriates me the most is the gall of these people, thinking they are entitled to do what they are doing. It's people like them that give NYCHA residents a bad rep and ruins it for the people that actually need public housing.

Don't know why anyone is surprised by this, I mean it isn't like illegal activity has not been going on in projects before, and or that persons used their apartments for other than what was intended.

As with so many other things technology has made things easier and just as all sorts of persons from condo owners to RS tenants are renting out their apartments persons in public housing want in on the action.

Let's see what Mr. de Blasio does about this in January. Will be interesting to see if he remains true to the "pity party" advocates who will come out with "these persons are just trying to improve their lives..." or some such nonsense that justifies this mess.

It's an antidote to the Disneyfication of NYC...a room in the hood dodging rats, muggers, and stray gun shot...an authentic old timey big apple experience!

I know about this...been going on for many years. Truth be told though, your back has to be against the wall to rent a room in the projects. Just saying...

Yes, but the special twist to this story that makes it so annoying is that these people are renting out their rooms in their NYCHA subsidized apartments...subsidized by you and me and all other taxpayers.
