Do you crazies ever watch anything besides Faux News? You can keep repeating the outrageous lies, it doesn't make it true, but it does make you crazy!
The Obama stuff is a little out there, but you do realize that De Blasio aided the Sandinistas, a communist enemy of the US, and traveled to the communist USSR at the height of the Cold War for his honeymoon? He also secretly traveled to Cuba without State Department permission and refuses to say what he did there or who he met with.
When people call De Blasio a communist, they are not delving into conspiracy, it is true and he has personally admitted to most of it.

Or it could simply be that he went there for academic purposes. Heaven forbid that someone is interested in the world behind their own neighborhood. He's got a BA in Metropolitan Studies from NYU and a MA in International Affairs from Columbia. So if that's your academic background, it helps if you've been to other countries. The cold war is over, btw. And the Sandinistas were never an "enemy" of the US. They were eventually elected to power in Nicaragua in the 1990s, and by then the US had no issue with them. Its really up to the people in Nicaragua to determine who their leaders are.
So is WWII. Why are we still tracking down and punishing former Nazis?
You can't just "pooh pooh" away certain aspects of your past. In the least, being wary of his past does not make one a wacko conspiracy theorist as Mr. Hyperbole-to-the-extreme threw out there.
The man has gone out of his way to associate with communist regimes and persons. That's enough in my book. I didn't vote for Lhota because I'm a backwards racist. I did because as a soldier who swore to defend the Constitution from all enemies - foreign and domestic - not long after the Cold War ended, I don't vote for communists.
And for the record, you might want to read up on the Sandinistas. They most definitely communist/socialist enemies of the US. While Billy De-Willhelm-Blasio was providing them medical support, US special operations soldiers were being killed with their AK's.
I will be working with the new mayor to ban all guns of any kind in the city... If I had my way everybody would have 72 hours to turn in all guns or risk 10 years in jail---- how is that for a commie plot. My fear is that there are too many people like you airborne carrying guns with more than one screw loose
Still better than the tyrant egomaniacal Nazi that just left.
Bloomberg does not seem to have much a human personality. Does he ever smile? Lol, I guess it was like having Mr. Spock as a mayor. But then again at least Mr. Spock has a brain!
With De Blasio, I am actually worried about the city's future now. But I guess only time will tell. If he really turns out that bad, then hopefully someone will rise in the Democratic party to challenge him 4 years from now.

The US operations soldiers had no business being in Nicaragua. Not a fan of Reaganism, nor do I blindly support everything the US (or any other country or regime or political party) does for that matter. The bottom line is the US never should have interfered in Nicaragua or other parts of Latin America. The public in many Latin America nations preferred leaders that the Reaganites would call Leftists. Today, much of Latin America voted in those who are called leftists. Brazil, Venezuela, Argentina, China, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Panama, Nicaragua, etc. If those are the leaders they want, they have every right to them.
While the US soldiers were all so busy fighting in Nicaragua, big cities here in the US had huge waves of crime due to the crack cocaine epidemic (under Reagan and the first Bush). These two men could not rule the US, how then could they rule other nations? I would think if your own house is on fire, you'd put out the fire in your house instead of running to a distance house and putting out their fire.
At any rate, the Reagan years are over, Nicaragua and the Sandinistas are now NOT ENEMIES of the US, and there was nothing wrong with de Blasio going to Nicaragua. I've known a number of academics who have done research and work in the Middle East, Latin America, China, Eastern Europe, etc. There's NOTHING WRONG with going to another nation, even if at that time there are political issues between that nation and the US.
And btw, most of the men in my family are veterans. That does not mean I'm going to blindly follow some foolish idea of patriotism. The US, like other governments, has at time done some pretty bad stuff.
But back to de Blasio's travels, in his generation and younger, among more affluent and/or educated people things like study abroad, work abroad, or volunteer abroad are actually fairly common, and certainly in a place like NYC.
At any rate, he's been elected by the people of NYC, who had no problems with his past, so effectively there is no past.

Mr. Spock had compassion, something totally alien to Bloomberg!
Don't buy into the right wing propaganda. De Blasio is a resident of NYC and has areal stake in his decisions. He is not some detached billionaire who can separate himself from the problems of the average city resident. His son is still in a NYC school. His decisions will affect his family. I don't expect him to be perfect or to please everyone. I have faith he will not harm the city (unlike Bloomberg who almost destroyed the middle class) and that he will show more understanding and compassion for the majority of residents. Those that don't approve are welcome to move out to some right wing nest of white perfection.
