It's just idiots who don't know what these terms mean, and simply throw around buzz words to try and instill unsubstantiated fear on people who are easily influenced. Don't forget, these are the same people claiming Obama is a marxist communist muslim born in Kenya intent on destroying the US.

Best to ignore these fools.

Let's be fair. Bloomberg did some good things and could have dome some things better.

Let's not be quick to judge DeBlasio. He has an excellent message. I somewhat concerned about how high on his list Bronx priorities sit. I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt but let's watch carefully.

No, he doesn't. I'm a future high net worth individual. His message does not resonate with me. For a city to be effective and help the poor, you need all the rich people you can get.

Am I the only one noticing all the "Marxist"-"commie"-"socialist"-"pinko" slurs in recent years? Is it some kind of return to the McCarthy era?
Like I said, many of them sound like old people barely hanging on or they were kids raised in the 50s/60s with that nonsense.

The concerns are very real and a good thing. We must preserve the capitalist system that has brought us so much wealth.

Why do you assume that I am poor and without perks? Although, your eloquence speaks volumes about your qualifications.

I think another problem is a lot of Giuliani followers find themselves priced out of the city. They'll try to put the blame on everyone else, but the law and order people they voted for did not give a damn about them.

I voted for de Blasio because he campaigned to all New Yorkers. With that said, I don't think he'll be able to lower rents or anything like that. Many of the changes that happened to NYC were collectively made by business leaders, who as a group are always more powerful than any one mayor. Bloomberg one was one of them, but the city wouldn't have been changed like it was if he didn't have the support of his FRIENDS/FELLOW CEOs.

Excellent point!

As Martin Luther King, Jr. said, "Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity"

Many of them grew up to admire Edgar Hoover also. Unaware of his secret life.
