I'm currently subletting in Sunnyside and am looking to make the move to Brooklyn. A place that keeps popping up is Prospect Heights--however, Google Maps doesn't really make it clear where PH ends and Crown Heights begins. Hoping you guys can help?
Also, any other areas to look at in Brooklyn would be greatly appreciated! I'm a "young professional" (I hate that term) and will be rooming with someone else--max rent price of $2400 for a 2BR, although preferably less.
Any suggestions on places to look (as well as the aforementioned question)? An area near Prospect Park would be awesome!
The border is Washington Ave. You may see ads for places further east listed with the PH tag.
At that budget, I suspect you might find something at the PH/CH border, but not likely in the heart of the nabe.
I suggest looking at Kensington or Ditmas Park
The eastern border is considered by most to be Washington Avenue. Though, and acknowledging that borders change, I don't have a problem calling Classon Avenue the eastern border (nor did the people who named Prospect Heights High School on Classon Avenue near Eastern Parkway/Washington Ave...everyone and their mother understood that Prospect Heights High School was/is located in Prospect Heights, though the "purists" of today would claim otherwise). Much like people don't have a problem claiming that the BPL Grand Army Plaza branch or the Brooklyn Museum are in Prospect Heights, though "technically" they on located on the non-Prospect Heights side of Eastern Parkway. Ultimately, though, the Brooklyn Museum, and folks living on Pacific/Dean/Bergen/St. Marks/Prospect/Park/etc. between Washington and Grand Aves have been and are more a part of the Prospect Heights culture than the Crown Heights culture.
