CBS now reporting air temperature in Central Park is 7 degrees but with the wind-chill factor it feels like -14 degrees.

Well it depends where you live as I heard that there was approx. 6-9 inches in other parts of the city.

Meanwhile, I heard on one of the TV stations yesterday that this is the coldest month we have had here since the beginning of this century. Also this is not a normal situation as usually we get a few days of super cold and then it rebounds. But this time the super cold is staying for several days as pieces of the polar vortex keep breaking off one after the other, meaning one arctic blast after another without any real warming trend for us in between. Today and Monday are supposed to be warmest days where hits the freezing mark in the afternoon before the temperatures dip back down again.
