Landlord raised the rent to $50,000 a month from $20,000 a month

Been eating at that location since the early/mid 90s. I had 3 today at the 72st location in honor.

I'm guessing the lease is up and rent is going from something like $3000 a month to $50,000 per month

Hard to sell enough recession special hot dogs to cover that

I notice the business dropped a lot for years. many people don't want to pay 1.95 for a dawg. I notice they had more business selling that awful $1 pizza

Rents in that part of GV have been skyrocketing for years. Jefferson Market and so many other shops of legend are being pushed out by high rents.

Greenwich Village like much of the rest of Manhattan is becoming an over priced playground for the wealthy.

smh soon nyc will only be for multinationals and people

In addition to the one on West 72nd, I think there is also a Grey's up on the Upper East Side, somewhere around 86th St.

Am just grateful to have been around to know GV, Soho, Tribeca.... from back in the days (1970's, 1980's, etc..). Youngsters coming up today and or these new arrivals just don't know do they?
