Is East Harlem really that bad? (Amsterdam, Lenox: real estate, quality of life, beach)

I'll keep posting, I just want to see you tell more people to move to E. Harlem. Why don't you provide some with positive information on Camden or West Philly now? Both Camden and Harlem have extremely similar crime rates.

And throat slashings are existent in East Harlem. Just proves to me how little you know about the crime activity there.

I know nothing about Camden or West Philly..which is why I do not post there or discuss them. Then again...you know security guards there too I am sure...so feel free to enlighten the Camden/West philly posters on their threads!

I never said you know nothing about West Philly or Camden. I said why don't you tell others to move there seeing as the crime rates of those neighborhoods are similar to Harlem's. Have anything else you want to put in my mouth?

Hmm..and how do you know that many of the new developments in the rockaways are being sold to residents already? You have access to the builder's clientele? You know many of the people buying? Or just your perception? Even if it is true, what does it matter whether new or old residents are buying..the point is people are buying...who cares who it is.

I am glad to hear that the top price is $250K for a 2 bedroom...many still dont't see the value of living there for $50,000...but nonetheless..there are many that do which is why they are selling. I am glad to hear it!

i know for a fact arverne by the sea is being bought by mostly people in the rockaways.....hpd is offering preference to residents of the area.

FutureCop comparing Camden and West Philly to Harlem, that is ridiculous. LOL. I lived in Philadelphia for almost 10 years (North Philly for a good amount of time), and those places are places you stay away from. I don't feel the same about Harlem. Silly me. I go and visit, and can't stop doing it. Harlem must be that good.

Actually I was in the area today, taking some photos of some developments there. Will NEVER do that in Camden, North or West Philly.

You can FEEL watever you want. I felt fine in Detroit, doesn't mean I was safe. You people don't know what you're talking about, it's that simple, you don't know what you're talking about. Feel means nothing, it's all about the crime rates. And when you compare West Philly to Harlem, you'll see a relation in crime.

Ok here are some photos I took of new Developement in Harlem today. Not exactly East Harlem but close by in West Harlem. One day, I will make a photo tour of East Harlem. Just wait and you will see.
