Where would you rather invest? Give me Bushwick all day.

From the nypd crime map.

Much less. What don't you understand that the amount of tourists/people visiting those tourist attractions boost raw number of crimes just because there is more opportunities for crime! Transient population. Those people who don't live there are counted as crime victims, and yet are not counted as the actual population. The actual population is small.

Unless of course you believe Midtown to be more dangerous than Brownsville, Detroit, Camden and pretty much any other place on the planet.

Cmon stop playing dumb.

I can understand if we were comparing Columbus Circle, Times Sq and Herald Sq, but we are not. We are comparing Bed-Stuy and Bushwick, which are comparable neighborhoods in this context with similar transient populations.

Point is more crime can happen in those popular areas than the brooklyn "rougher areas" doesnt matter if 1000, or 500 people live there. No matter where you are something can happen to you so just be careful.

What are the population numbers? Put it in perspective.

According to the Census FactFinder on nyc.gov:

Bushwick North 57,138
Bushwick South 72,101
Bedford 70,713
Stuyvesant Heights 63,504

Bushwick contains the areas all the way up to Graham and Grand. So some of Bushwick is covered by the Williamsburg precinct.

A small section of Bed-Stuy is not included (listed with Crown Heights or Clinton Hill instead).

Well yeah, the per capita stats are what counts. I'm surprised NYPD whiz Jake will throw out raw numbers like that. Here are precinct pop:

83rd precinct: 112,634
79th precinct: 90,263
81st precinct: 62,722

So as you can see, the 83rd precinct has much more people than any of the Bed-Stuy precincts, and doesn't even have more raw totals. So its not even close, see the per capita stats.

If you're gambling. Fact is, there is violent crime in all 3 precincts, and it matters most when you, or someone you know, is the victim.
Here's a video of a street robbery just south, in the 77th precinct:
