So, then the question is: are there cabs at about 11pm or midnight at the #1 train 231st St station? At the Spuyten Duyvil metronorth? Late 60's 5'1" female. Thanks
you are mentioning safe areas but the hours you mention call for heightened awareness and vigilance
I agree with you 100% no where is safe no matter what train,or what time of day it is.you just have to be very
Careful and have eyes in the back of your head.😈
One of my friends is a beautiful 24yr old tall beautiful blonde female who sometimes takes the 1train fri night/sat monings or sat night/sun mornings from my events all the way upto 181 st with no fear at all. Whats 5 or 6 more stops.
She's a walking time bom waiting to explode,and you're info.just help 😨
You might want to check the express bus that goes up there. I believe it's the BXM1. It may leave you closer to your place. But like anything else be vigilant, no headphones, no phones.
The problem with walking up the hill to Spuyten Duyvil or Riverdale late at night is that the streets are very quiet. Outside of the buses, there is not much in the way of regular traffic on the streets, pedestrian or vehicular, and Johnson has a long stretch without any buildings that front on the street, up the hill, with a row of parked cars and an embankment behind The Century and River Pointe Towers, as the opposite side is a wall that separates the roadway from a drop-off. The Riverdale Avenue side is better because there are buildings and shops, but many are closed, and the streets are quiet.
At 231st, you can transfer to the Bx7 for the Riverdale Avenue hill and the Bx10 to Spuyten Duyvil. The BxM1, BxM2, and BxM18 express buses serve Riverdale/Spuyten Duyvil/Kingsbridge. For a cab at Spuyten Duyvil via Metro-North, I would call a car service to meet the train as it can be lonely in that area at night and cabs do not usually wait for the late trains. The Railink stops around 11:40 or so, can't remember the exact time, but the train that gets to the station at that time is the last shuttle for the night.
