Today is going to be 39 degrees F (or it is already that temperature). Enjoy the break from the arctic blast before the return of the polar vortex tonight. This has been the coldest January this century.

Well on January 7th it was the coldest day in NYC in 118 years and we haven't finished with this super cold yet. So it is nice to have a break of 44 degrees before we get the next arctic blast.

It was a joy. Got to Herald Square for some shopping today (MAcy's Penny's, Jacks and some dollar pizza,) but by the time I get to 60th and Third about 2PM to catch the final bus uptown a brutal South west wind starting blowing with some rapidly dropping temperatures.
I guess will be back to normal, aka frigid, quite soon.

It's so far a real winter, Cold with little warmup, snow and grey days. It's what it's supposed to be. Hot chocolate, winter gear and indoor activities mostly as we count the days till spring. About 2 more months of this. (hopefully)

It's been nowhere close. Jan 2004 was much colder (average 24.7F). So far this January averaged 29.5F

We have had some super cold days (way below normal temperatures) and other days way above normal temperatures. So those cold days are way too cold. But even going south a bit it is just as bad as one watches on TV what happened last night in Atlanta, GA.

It was so nice yesterday to have another break from the winter weather before today's snowstorm. I hope everyone got out and enjoyed the outdoors yesterday!
