Yikes! What kind of rash would do that? No mention either if it was contagious or not... or if it's even the cause of death.

well done ***holes. ERs are some of the least humane places on earth. People are treated like cattle

Man Dies After Waiting Hours For ER To Treat His Rash: Gothamist
The comments section of one of the articles I read -- I think it was Daily News -- mentioned several things involving rashes that could lead to death, such as anaphylactic shock from an allergy. The article I read also mentioned the guy was a drug user (not sure why an article about a man dying in the ER would mention this) but I suppose it's possible he took something bad that caused an allergy as well.

It doesn't surprise me that someone dies in the ER after waiting for hours to see a doctor. My experiences with the ER are hours of waiting.

A rash is often the major symptom of a life threatening allergic reaction like anaphylactic shock or angioedema.

Yep, something in a needle could definitely cause it.

He didn't die from a rash. He died of junkie-ism. He also wasn't forgotten in the ER. He moved to a different area and did not respond when his name was called numerous times.

Maybe he didn't respond when his name was called because he was already dead.

No,video supposedly shows him still alive at 3:45 am.He was called numerous times before that. He moved out into the outer waiting room after being triaged ,when they had told him to stay inside the emergency room area.

Thanks bluedog, for the correct info. I haven't seen any followup on the original story so had no idea he was still alive when they called him.
