I saw the news a few months back this lady stole a bunch of groceries from a supermarket because she didn't have enough money to feed her family as her food stamps were not enough to cover. She got arrested but a good Samaritan stepped in and paid for all the groceries.

I know a lot of people game the food stamp program but it hurts people that really need it. If only the govt can get off their butts and put in more protection instead of flatly cut these programs.

They built in protections over the years. Con artists are smart, though, and find ways around them. And its not like legislatures are in food stamp offices and able to personally oversee this. So their way of dealing with fraud is through limits and cuts.

As for the lady stealing groceries, she couldn't go to a soup kitchen? Criminals will make all kinds of excuses to cover their behavior. How do we know this lady didn't sell her food stamps at the bodega and buy drugs with that money?

If people are struggling with a lesser amount of food stamps they should shop like this woman.

Coupon hoarders typically improperly bypass limits and terms & conditions with their stacking. But regardless, needless to say if everyone became as fanatical as these people then companies would cease issuing coupons pretty much overnight
