Today I saw a father holding his little girl by the hand, maybe 7 or 8 years old, as they were crossing the street, probably on the way home after buying groceries. I could hear her little voice pipe up impatiently, "Daddy, we should have [inaudible] - it would have been easier!" I imagine she was proposing a different way home or a different place to cross the street. How great, I thought. Here's a little girl who already has an opinion - in her view, a better idea than her older, wiser father - and she's piping up to make herself known. She's on her way to being a smart, outspoken NYC woman. Perfect.

If it was in Manhattan what the little girl probably said was "Daddy we should have a maid to do all this manual labor- we are frekin rich"==

What if she said, "we should have rubbed poo on our faces"?

Talk about typical New Yorker: you didn't even hear what someone else said (a kid no less), but you still think it's a good idea.

I think you've assumed a lot OP. Kids in all places say all kinds of things. Your account says more about your perspective than that of the girl.

Probably she said: Daddy, why didn't we drop the big one on those Indochina commies? It would have been easier!

She probably said "Daddy, we should have 'nuked the entire middle east' - it would have been easier!"
