I disrupted a person placing a skimming device in the Lobby ATM where I work yesterday. Upon speaking to PD I was informed they discovered skimmers in Rock center and a few other local places. Here is a link to some info about skimmers. The one I found if it was placed on the machine would have been very hard to detect. They are especially prevalent on generic ATM's.

Thanks for the post D. Scott, never really paid attention when taking money out of an ATM, I will now!

I always use my free hand as a shield when entering my pin and try to solely use bank branch ATM machines.

I always look over the machines before I use them, cover my hand typing the pin, and never use generic machines (I use Chase, so there's always a branch or Duane Reade handy.)

I may be the only person on the planet that's never used an ATM machine. If I need cash I go to my local bank. Inside.

I only carry about $20-40 ever, hardly use cash. CC are much better and I get paid to use it.
