never bring a knife to a gun fight. unless you are well trained ,not knowing if they armed with firearms would leave everything else playing 2nd fiddle.
even mace , pepper spray stun guns take seconds to take effect. that is enough time for someone to fire off 5 shots.
in fact at one popular training facility for law enforcement and ccw permit holders LETHAL FORCE INSTITUTE you are subject to having to fire off 5 shots when hit with a stun gun in order to pass the course.
to bad our own guns could not leave ny with a residence permit to shoot there.
Long guns would have been perfectly legal. As for the handguns, they would also have been legal in PA according to their laws as long as you didn't conceal carry. Pennsylvania law enforcement is not in the business of enforcing NY's unconstitutional permitting system. While I understand your concern, you don't have to follow NY laws out of state. Once you leave, its laws no longer apply.
Unlike NY, PA respects the 2nd Amendment. Yesterday my daughters and I were surrounded by magazines and guns banned in NY for our "safety". Amazingly, we came out alive.
it is not pa police you have to fear. they are clueless.
my fear would be crashing coming back into new york with the guns in the car. it is easy to prove you left the state with the guns. not going directly to a nyc approved range from your house makes being off premise a crime.
that is why nyc went to these residence permits and not the hunting target ones we used to use.
if you can't show them how you are coming or going directly to or from an nyc range they can confiscate your stuff ,pull your permit and prosecute.
