no thats the only pension. but theres 457,401k and ira plans that you can also do.i have the 457 plan and when i turn 25 im gonna open a roth ira.but as for the pension itself its 50% after 20 years but its 1.5%for every year you stay after 20 up to 30 years. so if you stay 25 years your pension will be 57.5% and if you stay 30 years it will be 65% thats the max. if your average is 90 thousand a year and your pension after 20 years is 45 thousand that means youll make about 875 a week with only federal tax coming out which is around 17%.so youll be taking home around 725 a week which is more than some people make working full time.of course those number will be up 20 years from now but im giving you todays numbers.

No, what they do is give you an adjusted score of 103.75 and they add a .5 to your new list number. Meaning, your new list number would be 900.5

Wreckerman, when you say it's 50%, what are you referring to. Is it 50% of just your base salary at the time of your retirement or is it 50% of your total earnings meaning base salary+overtime+other incentives. Also, how do they calculate it - is it the average of your highest 3 years of total earnings or the average of your last 3 years of total earnings?

How can he do that? I thought you had to wait to be called for processing before you can use the DSNY training for the CDL. Is it a separate school which you can get CDL training even if you're not going to be a sanman?
