Well I might not get the same DMV clerk next time around, going to a DMV office is like going to the dentist in a way, lol. I will be in the 2nd round of testing that might take around 2 yrs before my #5650 comes up. How many they call up next round I don't know, minimum of 2,000 maybe, last list they got up into the 9,000's.
No matter how you get your CDL,everybody has to go through OJT(on the job training) which will be at Floyd Bennett Field. They don't send you out on a route until you know the truck inside/out. I know the probationary period is 18 months.
I thought you already had your CDL MPrus, got you confused with somebody else, somebody took the cdl road test with a school bus and he knew somebody at that driving school so he paid less than the $900.00 DSNY cdl training fees.
I'm confused though, you need to take a medical exam first in order to take the tests for the CDL permit? If DSNY is going to conduct a medical exam, why do you have to take a second medical exam?

Sorry for the confusion, you need to take the DOT Exam before obtaining your CDL,you can take the permit tests without it though, but eventually you will need it before getting your CDL. You can go to your doctor, very basic tests, shouldn't take more than 20 minutes, doctor then signs and dates the medical certificate. It is valid for 2 yrs. This is totally separate from the DSNY medical exam.

you mean before getting the permit? because i have an a3 restriction on my permit because i didnt have that medical....will that be a problem? an a3 restriction means i can only use my cdl for municipal or school use only.
So let me make sure I understand this correctly. Before I go to the DMV to get my CDL PERMIT, I have to take the DOT Medical Exam and then bring that certificate to the DMV when I go to obtain my permit?

you can definitely vest out after 15 years im not sure about 10 years but i dont see why not.You would get 25% if you could vest out after 10 years but you dont get your pension or benefits till your 20th year anyway.
