I know you don't need it for dsny you only need it if you drive out of NYS some people from my job got tickets when they drove it to jersey they had a check point and the officers ask them were is the dot card they didn't have it he told them any time you leave NY you have to carry it on you so if dsny ever has to go to new jersey to the dump you better have it on you

You are wrong. DSNY runs relays to jersey quite often and an a3 restriction states that you may go interstate as long as you working for a municipality (city agency) or school. I bet your job is not a city agency or school.

You cannot have a K restriction. You get a K restriction if you are under 21. If you have a K restriction you cannot go interstate period. This is why DSNY now requires applicants to be 21 years of age at time of appointment. When the hiring age was 18, senior guys got mad that the young sanmen didn't have to run relays to NJ.

Not true, only if your driving a commercial vehicle and if your dumping a truck in jersey for DSNY it's not needed you fall under the umbrella of a municipality. Jesus lord oh mighty please help these kids, Listen to those that are about to get on this job for the most part everyone on the job already will allways give you a helping hand or advice. Here we have someone who is not on the job yet telling people what they need for this job and allready confusing people. I'm on this job almost 5 years and before this i drove For a major bus company all over the USA, Had my DOT Medical and WE DO NOT NEED A DOT MEDICAL (THE LIL YELLOW MEDICAL CARD) FOR DSNY AKA SANITATION. And if you get pulled over in any other state(other than NY) in a personal car at a check point and they ask you for a medical they are wrong. Now if your driving a vehicle over 18000lbs your on your own.

If I had to choose a Queens East garage it would be Q11,very nice residential neighborhood. Floral park is in nassau county.
The Q8 garage is located in S.Oz. Park however the actual Q8 area emcompasses the neighborhoods of Kew Gardens Hills, Briarwood, Hillcrest, Jamaica Estates, and Fresh Meadows. Roughly the area bounded by the LIE to the north, Van Wyck to the west, Clearview to the east and Hillside Avenue to the south.

Floral Park is in Nassau and queens. I think it's covered by the garage on Westchester blvd by union turnpike (across from alley pond park). Does anybody know which one that is?

I retired in 1967, and still taking advantage of the benifits. My son, who has his own business is on the new list. he is taking job for the benifits. He is on Staten Island. It is a great job, be careful and protect your back it has to last you a liftime. I started on the job in Harlem, transferred to QW 1 the old 50. and finally to Staten Island, SI2 the old 72. I worked Dongan Hills and Midland and south beach. Good luck to all. P S -DON'T RUN ! ! ! !
