While getting hired by DSNY is on all of our minds, there are more important matters in our lives sometimes. SalSan,you are a fighter and so is your dad,I wish him a speedy recovery from his illness. He will beat this.

Any insight would be appreciated. I am in the low 400's and will probably make the July class from what I am reading here.
Remember their is no telling how much OT you will get but i'm willing to bet and the OTJ guys would know more but if we get 50.00 a day for truck x5x40(maybe more but figure vacation time) thats 10,000 more a year with no OT. As my father used to say"let it snow, let it snow, let it snow" then look out!!

For the guys worried about failing the drug test.Get your ass to West 8th street in the city (you know, the head shops) and pick up a bottle of "Ready Clean".That **** works.I smoked daily for years when I had to take a drug test for USPS.I drank that **** and all was fine.Just follow the instructions on the bottle, youll be good to go.

I may have a choice to make as I also have a good chance of being called for TBTA Officer. It will be 20 and out in either job for me because of my age. They are 36,900 to start and 52,000 top pay and working on a new contract. I am pretty sure that there is more OT available at TBTA. Anyone have any insight that could help?
Cops now start with 35k with top pay about 70k. But do not become a cop. Cops have such a hard time. You are screwed if you do and screwed if you dont. If you are in a situation and shoot someone killing them al sharpton will have your job. With garbage it wont shoot you.

It depends greatly on what you want to do with the next 20 years. But no Doubt, DOS pay blows away BTO's pay, the top scales are $36 an hour for sanmen, and $26 for Bridge and tunnels. To make $ as BTO you have to practically live there!

Hey does anyone happen to have the list of acceptable proof of residency? When i went down for oreintation, I brought a w2 from my job thinking that was proper under the "tax papers". It worked for now, but the lady said i have to go back with something better. I can't find my 07 tax forms, and I never saved my bank statements.

Would my disposition papers from the courts be good enough?
