no offense but the city's budget is tight...from the way he was talkin i really dont see another class before april

can the next couple of guys who get calls ask them at HR if they know how many they have so far for the august class thanks

guys think about how much people is being call for each class if it's 20 people a day jwoodz56 is i think #378 he is in the 2nd class so that should leave 3 classes left 60 people depends on who else gets called today the is still hope for the people in the 600

Congratulations to all the guys being called this week.
The Commish said that the budget was approved for the July and August classes. He does not see another class until Spring the earliest.
Like any job the hiring is on an as need basis so for all the guys waiting, pray that a lot of guys decide to retire in the next few months.
The other guys that were there today may agree, DSNY determines how many employees are retiring and then they figure what they need to hire. Some seasons they are undermanned some they are over.
If no one leaves then no one is hired. That is pretty much what I got out of it today.

Congrats to all in the July '08 class & best wishes to you all. Just remember while your on your OJT, just relax & take your time. And also Congrats to those in the Aug. '08 class. Make sure you all have the paperwork you need for that 1st day so you'll have less to worry about. Best wishes to all of you.

how long is final processing? is it a full day thing like the medical was?

Also they keep reiterating not to quit your job, is there any possibility of not getting on if you get called for final processing?

They tell you that just to cover there a$$... i believe once you go to final processing and you get the piece of paper, it's your job ...

they say that cause your not hired yet man something could still go wrong.......ex. don't have all the paper work together next week or u get a dwi before u go in for final or something else... were not hired untill after final processing and the first day of training and even then were on thin ice
