31,200 6 months
33,325 after 6 months
34 632 1.5 years
37,024 2.5 years
41,600 3.5 years
53,040 4.5 years
62,070 5.5 years
This is the current pay steps, but the steps increase gradually under the new contract, for example at the end of the new contract top pay for an employee on the job 5.5 years will be 67,xxx, That is the way it was explain to me.
I completed my garage duties today at Queens West.
They work me like a dog.
Change one tire, dump one truck at dump site, gas up one truck,
pick up one truck from repair shop and swept office and break room.
This is a great job. First collection truck roll in at 7:50 AM, but you can't leave until 2:00 PM, location has shower, pool table, ping pong table,
weight room. and TV room. The garage seems like a good gruop of guys, everyone treated me as an equal. I felt like I was part of the Garage, even though I was only there one day.
I also hear that you can't work a second job until you got approval ?? Does anyone know more about this and what should i do . I can work my job now part time anytime i want whenever day i can come on on my chart days... i wonder if this is ok being that the pay is low for the first few months
If this job is on the books, you should fill out the form HR gave you. It was included in that folder full of forms at final processing, but not one that you had to fill out that day. I think they let you take it home to complete later. They want to see if there's any conflict of interest with your second job. You can continue to work for your current employer until they tell you otherwise.
The HR lady said they are supposed to call you either way. I filled mine out at final processing in June and still haven't heard. But I'm not going to bug them for an answer either. ;o)

Sounds like they actually had you working hard. Having you swept the office and break room was going a little over the top. Especially since they had you dump and change a tire. Coming back 7:50 from the dump isnt anything to think well of. That truck will be cut sooner or later and the other trucks in its section will take a line from it.
i got you all beat...i mopped the floor for an hour and watched tv for 7 hours lol
Haha, sounds good. They got cable or satelite tv?
For the guys who changed tires. How many pounds does a fully inflated tire weigh?
For the guys who went on relays. Did you have to do a pre trip and post trip on the truck?
