Well as the job becomes more known more and more people are going to take the test. The only thing i see effecting sanitation is less people retiring than usual.

It has a major impact on sanitation and all the other departments. The key thing you have to remember is that the city derives alot of its revenue from taxes these financial firms pay on their revenues and taxes on their employees compensations. These financial firms have been losing billions upon billions of dollars and compensations (salaries & bonuses) having been coming down as well as there's lots of umemployment. So the city government loses out on all that money as well. When there's less revenue coming in on the city budget, that's when you start seeing individual tightening of the belts for the various city departments and that means cutbacks, hiring freezes, loss of benefits, etc.............

The real problem is that it's going to be "doom and gloom" for awhile before things start to turn around.

What does it mean when you call DCAS and they say that you are " on an outstanding certification" for an exam? Thanks!
