Congrats on passing the General Knowledge on the first try,air brakes and tank written tests you need to pass also,they are 25,20 questions. Your CDL B permit should have the "N" endorsement with no airbrake restrictions(L,L2).

Did you have your dot exam yet? if not you will need that before you can take the cdl road test.

When i went ,I chose to go to the Downtown manhattan DMV Battery Park (NO LINES)... When I saw the clerk behind the counter they told me what I needed to take.. The guy was very informative ! I passed all three the first try and they gave me the temp permit card until the photo permit came in ...

Now the waiting game begins. Hopefully this weekend we'll hear something !

DOT=Dept of Transportation.
The DOT Medical Exam and CMV Certification - Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration

When I took my DOT exam it was over in 10 minutes. Check your blood pressure,eye sight,urine test,hernia check,take your height and weight,the doctor will make you squat a couple of times,touching the floor without
bending your knees. After the exam the doctor gives you the medical certificate or card,valid for 2 yrs.

The waiting is the hardest part
Every day you see one more card
You take it on faith, you take it to the heart
The waiting is the hardest part.

Man,Tom Petty sure looked funny at the halftime show at the Super Bowl.

I'm confused. What is the point of the DOT medical. I went to a driving school and they recomended a doctor, I took a physical and have a paper from him. Is that the same thing as the DOT exam? Or is that a specific exam from the DOT that we all have to do?

The Dot Physical is to determine if you are fit to drive a commercial vehicle. It is a federal law thing. You will not get a cdl if you take insulin and are diabetic,have epilepsy,high blood pressure,etc. Driving a commercial vehicle is a big responsibility.

Did your doctor give you something like this? http://www.labelmaster.com/images/pdfs/DQF2R.PDF

So does that mean that I have to take the DOT physical before I get called for the job or can I do it after? Is there a specific doctor that I gotta go and see or do I just go to my doc and finally do I need any forms? Sorry to bother you guys like that but any little info helps. Thanks
