The DOT is a Medical Form your Doctor fills out.. You can download it from the DMV website or pick one up near you.. It's just a basic Physical that is given and it only lasts 2 years... You can take the CDL permit without it , BUT you need to have it by the time DSNY calls you for the processes.... Its a stupid new law Bush signed , just make sure people are physically sound while driving cross country , or state to state...
I dont think that they'll wait until June/July to hire the first class.. I think the first class will go in by april ( Don't Quote me on it) Maybe classes thereafter will be at a slower pace..
DSNY hasn't had a class since the begining of Dec.. They need to hire atleast one class...Just my opinion..
how many people do they usually call for a class?? does anyone have a ballpark figure??
For all the people who took the 6063 exam, I spoke with a DCAS representative and they told me that even though the old 2052 list just expired, the new 6063 list won't be "established" for another week or so - maybe longer. Anyone who received an adjusted score and a new list number, that will be reflected on the new list. I think it's safe to say that the first round of people won't get called til March/April for orientation.

I'm new to this good luck to all. From what I was told at the DMV Sanitation will give you your medical and that you didn't have to see a doctor to get clearance
You DON'T need the DOT to operate a municipal vehicle. You can waive it & you'll get an A3 restriction on your license. It's ridiculous how much misinformation is on this thread. NYS DMV - Commercial Driver License (CDL) Certifications
DCAS web site says DSNY Expects to hire from the new eligible list in "EARLY" 08. .....April/May isn't exactly early. If they stick with what they say, it should be within 2 - 4 weeks that you top listers get notice.
the last class was 250. ...So...who knows for sure....
250? Who told you that lie? The May,Sept,Oct & Nov classes had 125 a piece. There isn't even enough room @ FBF for 250, nor is there enough instructors,vehicles or shifts to cover a class that big. Whoever is feeding these lies is a moron.

They posted a bulletin @ my garage for anyone who was interested in getting detached to FBF for CDL instructor for March. So, March they'll be starting CDL classes. So once they get together at least 125 people with CDL's then they'll get a class together.
