Out in rural areas if you went out and out homeless in the woods you might wake up and find a bear, cougar, or wolf nibbling on you. Or if you freeze to death they'll find various birds like vultures, crows, and eagles eating your corpse. Oh, and mammals like coyotes and bears will eat a corpse.

Back to the must have eviction papers, I think that's really meant to scare out of towners who might be dumb enough to come to NYC to get social services. That dried up in large numbers years ago due to cuts from the government, but as this board shows there are people dumb enough to come to NYC to think that they'll get sufficient welfare services to get by. But they're at least 10 years too late.
