Ok I can agree with that.

Wow. Was that really that difficult? I know you don't like me, but it's ok to agree with someone every now and again. You didn't need to keep pasting your manufactured responses again and again. I was literally saying to you what he just said countless times on this thread. I'm glad that you finally understand that there's no nepotism and favors for white people or unfair and discriminatory hiring practices when it comes to getting on the job. This is a new day in the southern bronx indeed...

That's not what I agreed to...I said I do not believe they are secretly getting answers to the test (which if it were true would not be surprising anyway). I also agreed that the culture is as toxic as the FDNY commissioner said. However, there is nepotism and favors...if you believe otherwise you have never lived on planet earth.

If you banned anyone from Long Island being an FDNY firefighter you would solve 99.9% of all the racial problems in the department

Tell me of these favors then. Discuss it with me, and not with parroted rhetoric. Tell me about examples of how whitey is being selected to somehow just get the job over all of the black and brown people. Give me something substantive here. I'm sure you must know already that the courts never found any discrimination aside from blacks and Hispanics not scoring as high on the same test that everyone else took. Disparate impact is it's fancy name. You know this already right? That is all they have. Do you also know that those percentages mirror exactly who actually sign up and take the test? You know that too right, since you're living on planet earth and are up on all this.

I will tell you right now that the only nepotism or hooks that happens is once you get yourself through the entire process (read that again....once you get yourself through the entire process), and through the acedemy if you make it...if you know somebody high up, they may be able to help you get a house you want to be in. I'll admit that any day of the week. But even that is not guaranteed. Either way, that's it. That's where it ends. Unless you're considering the notion that whitey has more knowledge about when an exam is coming along and what the steps in the process are like. That's a problem of recruitment which the dept has bent over backwards to address, including a mentorship program.

So with all that, please tell about nepotism and favors in terms of getting hired. Without manufactured paragraphs...

I think the best person, and only person, able to answer that question is the FDNY Commissioner. Oh wait..you think he is wrong and you are right. So I guess whatever you say about the FDNY is right, he is wrong, because...because...well because you say so!

Aren't you tired of rehashing this again? We get it..you are right because you say so, everyone else is wrong, including the people actually in the FDNY and the commissioner too! Did I miss anything else?

You still might have an over-concentration of white firefighters coming from Queens though.

Yes, you very very much missed the fact that the former commissioner does not claim that there is intentional discrimination in hiring. You're missing that, clearly. You keep going back to those few sentences as your go-to. But he doesn't claim that. You understand? Are you sure you have a degree? You cannot keep telling me to listen to the commissioner on this issue. He doesn't speak to it. Your argument is invalid.

The funny and sad thing is, I'm positive you'll just say it again....

Yeah but my perception of things is that most racist white people moved out to LI a while ago to build their own segregated communities
