Default Question for those who might know

This is mostly a question to the honest real estate agents we have on this board, or anyone generally more in the know than I am about the market... I've been reading for a while, so I know there's plenty of you guys on here.. What is an area in or around NY (maybe 45 mins away on the subway tops) where the prices haven't gone up like crazy yet? I ask because I have family looking to invest in some sort of apartment building, preferably within distance of public transportation.

If you know of general places, I'd like to hear those. Also if there's sites online that specialize in that kind of stuff, that'd be great too. Thanks in advance.

Good Luck with that one

I'm not an agent, but I study and keep up with Real Estate.

I don't know about forty-five minute from NYC, but upstate NY is where the bargain hunters go.

There are tons of places that are cheap within 45 minutes of the city, however most are in the ghetto.

The rest of the cheap places are in lower-middle to middle class white ethnic towns and neighborhoods. There are lots of these all of the NYC metro area, however their size and number are continually in decline.

I think you're a slick talker trying to make some fast money. If people knew the answer to that, we'd all be rich. It's all about circumstance; if you want an answer to your question, you should do your own HONEST homework.

according to some on this board, there is no such thing as the ghetto anymore....its pretty much now either u live in the projects or you dont. so with that being said, buy anywhere!and make sure you only rent to the yuppies & hipsters.
