Hi guys,

I live in a city's sponsored affordable housing for middle income families but I would like to apply for another affordable housing building which is more expensive. Do you think my application will be disqualified because of this fact?
Thank you,

I have often wondered the same thing; I have never read about it one way or the other.

Best I can say is TRY, you really have nothing to lose but some time.

Thank you Kefir King.
I ran into one of the ppt about the affordable housing application process, and it says that a person can apply for as many affordable housing projects as he/she wants. However, if you register on housing connect, there is a question on whether you live or not in a public housing project NYCHA or HPD. Why do they ask then?

Not sure. In fact what is HPD?
These kinds of applications have a lot of nonessential stuff that really means nothing and nobody reads.
If I were in NYCHA I would say yes...otherwise, NO.

yes you can apply if you already live in affordable housing; however some developments may give low priority to those who already live in affordable housing. but there are no rules against it.
