I am planning on making a visit in the near future and want to take the bus there. I haven't been there in over 15 years and it was by a car that I didn't drive, so I can't remember where the entrance is. I typed in the address on Hopstop, and it's telling me to take the BX26 and get off at Kazimiroff Blvd. Yet when I type in the address of The Botanical Gardens in Google Maps, it shows a stop for the BX19 on Southern Boulevard, located in front of the official address for the place. What I'm asking is, where is the actual entrance and is there more than one way to get in? Is it only accessible from Kazimiroff Blvd?
there may be another entrance on Kaz Blvd further down by the Fordham Gate. but yes the main entrance is on Kaz at Mosholu Pkwy
Thanks. That's what I'm trying to figure out...if there's another way in. It would actually be most convenient for me to take the BX12, but I know that only stops at the corner of Fordham and Southern Boulevard.
I don't really want to give away my location, but I don't live anywhere near a subway, yet there are several buses.
If I took the subway, I'd have to take a bus to get there, go all the way downtown and then come back up again. It wouldn't make sense. But thanks for responding and I may keep it in mind.

The walk from the corner of Fordham Rd/Southern Blvd to the main entrance is very, very, short ...like A block and a half.Southern Blvd and Kazimiroff Blvd are the same street. It' Kazimiroff North of Fordham Rd and Southern Blvd South of Fordham Rd.If the Bx12 is most convenient for you then you should definitely take it.
There is another entrance further up @Mosholu Parkway, which is the entrance from the Metro north Botanical Garden stop and a third entrance on the East side at Bronx Park East and Waring Avenue. It is known as the Waring Gate and only a few blocks from either the Pelham Parkway or the Allerton Avenue stops of the 2 train.

Thank you so much! You have been very helpful! I had no idea that Southern Blvd was the same as Kazimiroff. Google Earth made it look so much further than a block and a half from the BX12 stop. So that's why I thought I had to transfer at Fordham/Southern Blvd to the BX19.
So it looks like I'll just be taking the BX12 straight there. I can't wait to go on a beautiful day!
When on the West side I always took the B or D train to Bedford Park. Now on the East Side I take the #4 train to Bedford Park.
From both locations I take the Bx26 along Bedford Park right to the Gate.
I know that doesn't meet your criteria for no train, Random, but it's fast for me.
Oh nuts, I missed the Orchid Show that closed on Monday.
First of all, it's the New York Botanical Garden, not the Bronx. They got rid of the Bronx in the name many years ago. I think they wanted to disassociate themselves from the borough and changed the name. Now they seem to have changed their tune. The Garden has formed an association with the Zoo, Fordham University and Montefiore Hospital called the Four Bronx Institutions Association (FBIA) and are now exerting their influence to try to get the surrounding area the attention it deserves.
BTW, I have to call out the Gardens for how beautiful the Orchid Show was this year. I hope you all had the chance to go see it.
