Incidents like this are why I have a loaded shotgun by my bed. Break into my house with a hammer and CSI will be picking your brains out of my drywall. I sleep well every night.

That is horrible and it brings back a memory of long ago when strange people would go up and down the fire escape outside my kitchen window.
So 25 years ago I decided I would never live anywhere where someone other than Spiderman could get to my windows.

After posting I heard that he might have formerly lived in that building.

So do you think street level apartments should always have bars/gates for security reasons?

Yes but in reality it seems that most street level apartments don't have bars/gates.

We need Charles Bronson to clean up the streets, like he did in "Death Wish." Makes me sick thinking about how someone can foster so much rage.

Fine if he knew when/where the crime was going to take place and he could get there ahead of time.

In this case it wasn't but once upon a time it was the clean cut law student Teddy Bundy who kep the whole nation in fear. Remember Johnny Gacy? He killed a few too after meeting the first lady. All respectable and established members of society. Right now there is probably some crazy white collar banker out there doing god knows what with a few dry martinis in his system. Don't ge me started on Albert Fish such a dignified elderly man and the cannibal cop ring... the list goes on.
