I'm sure there were discussions about this a while back, but I see there's a gleefully malicious tabloid headline about Spitzer's payout in his divorce. Of course it's going to be big, since he's a rich guy - it would be a big payout even if there had been no sex scandal.

So Spitzer actually acted illicitly and not only betrayed his marriage but also his governmental position. Weiner only was sleazy and juvenile, with no actual sex.

Yet it's with Spitzer that I feel the loss. I'm really sorry he didn't get a foothold in the last election to have a chance to rehabilitate himself politically. I was thinking that if there indeed develops some kind of backlash against financial bigwigs, he'd be a great person to be in there, investigating and prosecuting.

These mysterious and corrupt "financial bigwigs" would simply offer him a prostitute for a year and he would simply go away.

Like all politicians they are both scum. As to their individual scandals, Weiners actions were just plain weird. Spitzer had a big appetite like most other males on this planet. I can accept that.

That's just one way of putting it, brother.

Spitzer and Weiner should have both kept their jobs, but since they were both left-of-center and extremely competent, they had to go.
If you don't weed out the good politicians, there would be no room for the sh*ts we have today.

Spitzer was prosecuting other men for prostitutes, yet he was visiting them. To tell you the truth he was overzealous in his prosecution of Wall Street. By his own standards he should go!

Weiner only passed one piece of legislation while he was in Congress and had no political allies. Even less now. Not a sign of being competent.
