Enlight me on this, but since I never been in a White Castle before, what is the differance between a White Castle and places like Burger King and McDonalds? Are the burgers just different and gross?

AS far as I am concerned they are all bad..but White Castle seems to be particularly bad because the "meat" is some sort of mystery patty thing that is about as thin as a sheet of paper..and within a couple hours gives you monstrous cramps and explosive, projectile diarrhea...at least with me that is. Stay away!

A lot of people never have White Castle sober, because it is so bad. But it used to be the one reliable fast food place to go to after a heavy night of drinking or smoking. So its popular with that crowd.

My go-to place after a night of binge drinking, petty crime, and domestic violence....would always be Taco Bell...yum!

Default The Starbucks...

was at the intersection of Fordham rd and Kingsbridge rd, there is a tiny park island called FK Bryan Park (according to an old map i have here) at that intersection, right where Kingsbridge Rd goes up the hill from Fordham Rd (where the 9 bus travels on) at Bainbridge Ave--the Starbucks was right there across the Island.

the D train/GC was basically 2 blocks from there

Since then a Starbucks opened at River Plaza in Marble Hill in early 2005, but it's not near Fordham U, and there is a Starbucks inside the Target store there as well. Another Starbucks opened up on Johnson Ave in Riverdale--but these are more for the Manhattan College crowd

Need to get the Fordum Baldies back, in the late 50's - 60's no "charactors" dare come into that neighborhood. If the Baldies didnt get a the park Duckys would.

That dam Lindsay and Kennedy ruened everything with immigration reform.
Does anybody remember that little candy store with the egg creams around 187th or was it 189th? Was it Piggys?

Guys, please STOP LYING!!!! Haven't you read the papers? Crime is down in NYC! Don't believe me, look at the "official" stats. It's obvious you are all misconstruing what you are seeing b/c the mayor and the Police Commissioner have statistics that say all is well.

Okay, Sarcasm Off now.

Crime in NYC is down overall but there are certain areas that are still bad to live in. Those areas are the hot spots. Everywhere else is cool. So when the mayor or police say it's all good, they're talking to people who can afford to live in the cool areas.

but they also need the police to be committed to getting rid of the problem. It seems obvious that they are not doing everything in their power if drug sales continue to operate in the open. I agree with Yodelthat the 52 is interested in the numbers. Maybe they need to be a little more interested in the people.
Maybe the cops need to be more interested in the people? NYC pays its cops about 25% less than the other cops in the area. Maybe the people need to show more interest in thier Police Dept. The NYPD used to test every 4 yrs and attract 40,000 applicants who would pay 25$ to take the test to be a NYC cop. Now the test is given svereal times a yr for free, but the city STILL charges money to take the Sanitation test AND they only give the SanMan test about every 4 yrs. Why? B/c the city pays its Garbagemen a competitive salary, but not its cops.

Get used to these problems, b/c NYC is not making a genuine effort to field an effective NYPD.

BXGEAR, let me know the next time the mayor or PC acknowledges that crime is a problem ANYWHERE SPECIFIC w/i the city limits.

The NYPD is shrinking and is increasingly made up of people who were hired w/o a proper background Investigation and those who would have flunked out of the Police Academy had it not been for test Q's being thrown out to boost averages. This is the NYPD that NYC is relying on to keep crime down.

Good Luck!
