I did not hear of this East Village beating/murder until I read this thread. Heard no mention of it in the mainstream media outlets as I drove to work today. Then when I read the details, now I know why. Perp is black and victim is asian, so no biggie. Reverse it, and all the Sharptons of world come out all enraged.
I got a feeling that all you fools wishing for the old, gritty "real" NYC are going to get what you've wanted. I feel bad for all the transplants living in the hood. Those folks are in for a rude awakening.
Reminds me of the old saying from the 80s. Welcome to New York...duck mother****er!
Add the drunk white cop that shot up a innocent civilian to your list as well unless of course this thread pertains to black males committing violence only

So true. And it won't be pretty.
It was already getting bad last summer with all the robberies happening, but it already looks like the situation is about to get worse.

All I know is that for the last 5 years, people have been coming on this site in Spring saying that the only reason the crime rate was down was because it was winter and predicting a big Summer crime spike which would mean a big increase in crime stats by the end of the year.
So far,it hasn't happened.
I'm sort of getting sick of waiting.
