Say it again

Nice neighborhood fo'real shonnnnn

47th Precinct sees spike in murders, shootings for 2014 - News 12 Bronx

Quote:
Gun violence is plaguing the 47th Precinct, which has seen more shootings in the past week than in all of last year.
According to NYPD crime statistics, shootings in general are up by at least 80 percent over 2013. Data shows that the area saw one murder in all of 2013 compared to eight murders so far in 2014, with four of them happening within the past few days.
But how can this be? It's not in the south Bronx! crime doesn't exist outside Sobro! Gasp!

Jesus christ I thought it had 4 murders this year, but the article is saying it's up to 8, with the other 4 happening in one week.

And Edenwald has not affected the crime statistics. It's been tame this year. The problem with the neighborhood is that WPR is an open drug market, and so drug shootings happen daily between these West Indians (Jamaicans especially), and the teenagers/young adults with there heavy Ybz, Ygz gang beef causes the insanely high number of shootings and homicides. People don't realize that alot of those homes in and around WPR (Bronxwood, E 227, Pauding, Gun Hill etc) are section 8.

Ask NYWRITERDUDE about the neighborhood, he high tailed it out lol

Well I lived on 238th/Nereid area with Jamaicans, West Indians, and Guyanese Indians and didn't have a problem. I moved because I didn't want to rent any longer. Many of the people in my area were hard working people. What do you have against Caribbean people, Super Mario?

More will just grow up to take their place. The conditions that created the current hood rats will just spawn more of them.

Agreed. Some of these local schools in the hood are just a breeding ground. I work in a school in the West Bronx, Let me tell you, the things these kids say in the hallways are disgusting. Some of them are 10 year olds throwing gang signs during recess behind a fence, to the hood rats standing in front of their apartment buildings. Some neighborhoods are taken for good.

If one isnt worried about getting shot, why would they worry about getting hit by a car? ......

Pay attention when you are walking and crossing the damn street and you will never get hit by a car...unless a car got out of control.

Webster is such a long street -- can you be less precise? Isn't there some actual crime map that would settle the question?
