I've been doing some reading.

It seems like the best Checking Account is U.S. Bank.... but they are not available in NYC.

I currently have a Citibank account. But was wondering if there are any other suggestions, with regards to no fees/high yield interest.

Thanks,

JpMorgan Chase. Just joking. Maybe try try small bank branch like Alma gated bank or Apple bank. Maybe try a credit union.

If you keep at least 2500 in the account, TD gives you free everything. It even pays the ATM fees at non-TD ATMs. I literally never go to the bank (or TD ATMs), it's super convenient.

TD Bank is the most widespread and doesn't charge you everytime you use your debit card, Amalgamated is good that way too, and makes up for not having as many branches by having no fee usage of those ATMs in McDonald's (and others in that network). Avoid Apple, they charge for every POS use of your debit card.

Give Schwab Bank a look over. Big fan of their customer service.

Default Chase

Chase is the best definitely. In nyc, you know that 9x out of 10 there is a chase nearby.

Oh yea, they also have Chase Atms in all Duane Reads. They also have a easy n good app for mobile banking.

My most important things are mobile banking and locations of atms so i can take cash out when I need it.

Chase hits the mark on both for me.

CHASE just offered us $200 each to open a checking account with at least $100, and another $200 each to open a savings account with $15K...must keep it for 6 months.
So we got $800 to shuffle some money around.

No monthly fees and we each got 100 free checks.

We needed coupons that were sent through the mail addressed to "Our Neighbor." We got 3 of them and gave one to a friend in Queens who did the same thing.

With interest rates as sucky as they are, you gotta play their silly games.
