I think a lot of people misread the OP, which is easy to do since it was phrased in an odd way.
OP is looking to SHARE a 2b/2b with another person and for his half to be $1800, so presumably the total rent would be $3600.
I have no idea if that is reasonable or not in Manhattan. Probably not since a regular 2 bedroom would go for that amount or more. In Queens it's certainly possible, but OP doesn't want to live in Queens, so I guess it's a moot point. The biggest problem (besides the cost) is that availability for 2b/2b tends to be low.
Agreed the problem is the second bathroom.....it's very doable for a 2/1, but 2/2s are rarer like you said and below central park you're looking for the bottom of the market at those prices. Maybe you get "lucky" and find one with small rooms and no windows in one of them or the like.
Sharing a bathroom with roommates is no fun; I've been in a 3-bed where it wasn't that rare to have 5 people in the apartment sharing the single restroom; you learn to deal with it.
Also make sure to know your potential roomies salary/credit history.
Yea, same budget.. $1500-$1800 per person.
We all make the same amount of money, one may make a little more than I do... not sure.
The thing is -- we both work in Manhattan and always hangout in Manhattan,, so of course we would prefer to live in Manhattan. Its just more convenient.
I think the reason I am struggling is because I don't want to share a bathroom.

Everyone except perhaps the extremely rich are compromising something when it comes to NYC real estate and apartment searches. You just need to figure out which thing you're willing to compromise on. It seems like it will be either Manhattan or the extra bathroom.
This is Manhattan, where average rents are now above $3k for a 1 BR, and where there is tremendous high demand. Most 2BR in your range are going to have a 1bath. A friend of mine recently rented a 2BR/2Bath for above $4K, and that was on the lower side that he found.
Stop limiting yourself to Manhattan. NYC is more than just Manhattan. At an entry-level position, I guarantee you that people your age are no where in Manhattan. They are living in Astoria, Sunnyside, Greenpoint, and other parts of Brooklyn and commuting. At your age, you should think about saving. It makes no sense to waste half your salary on rent so you can "hang out" in Manhattan. You won't have any money leftover to "hang out" with!!
In my building they recently rented a 2bedroom/2 bath for $1600.....Oh sorry I'm in the BX not Manhattan.
Yea, definitely not living there...
