long hoses connecting to the sink both for water entering the washer, and a super long hose coming from the washer to drain into the sink.

actually, i do not believe it at all.

there is no way this can even be true.

unless of course the living room is 6 inches from the kitchen?????/
Come on now. You KNOW MOST NYC apartments are smaller than hell. A 20 feet hose with an extension is the probably the least difficult rigged up appliance I've seen.

When I was growing up, I knew a couple people with those washers that are made to basically be compact sitting in their living room. There's one my mom's friend had that didn't even require it to be hooked up to a sink. I still haven't quite figured out how it was even effective or easy to clean up without spilling water all over the place.

I'm from the ghetto. If someone wanted a washer, even in their living room they'd make it happen.

That being said, I don't believe the OP myself. I mean... She said she was sitting at her computer typing away on city date while her doorknob was being turned by some crazed woman obsessed with washing a dozen blouses.
