HELP! My neighbor upstairs has a washing machine she isn't suppose to have one according to the lease. I requested the management to do an inspection, since I approached the neighbor nicely and asked her nicely if she has a washing machine going 24 hrs. REALLY 24 hrs she has a roommate. She replied as though I was crazy. Of course after the inspection no washing machine was found, she hid it. To top if off she gives me hard time every time I use my water she knocks on the walls, pounds her feet from upstairs and oh so much more. I feel like a prisoner in my own apt. Would believe as type this, she is twisting my door knob as to intimidate me......HELP!!!!!

mind your business, dont worry about what she has.
unless it leaks into your apartment, keep your mouth shut.

Are you the owner? If they really had a washing machine going 24 hours, the water bill would be astronomical.

Owner would still pay water bill. I can't imagine owner is happy about paying that.

I wonder why the washing machine was bothering you OP?. Was the noise that bad? Your post was not specific. I happen to live on top floor but we sometimes feel the vibration from the washing machine in the apt below us. But it's really not worth causing a commotion about, at least in our case.

My neighbor smokes cannabis constantly. The smell permeates the walls and the hallways. Nothing can be done about this because marijuana is decriminalized in NY. Cops don't care, even though there's pregnant women and elderly living next door.

Maybe it's a dishwasher and not a washing machine.

Approaching her was a bad move. People are spiteful animals.
