Regarding the links for crime in PR, to the geniuses who responded... Nowhere did I say PR was a utopia. I'm not ignorant to what's going on over there and it saddens me... That being said you guys are acting like the homicide rate is over 100... FYI Baltimore, New Orleans and Detroit are all worse cities than San Juan murders wise... That's my point. The city is struggling but it's nowhere near as bad as other places... Something definitely needs to be done about the economy though. They need to stop this taxing everything up the wazoo and they'll see how things stabilize...
There's nothing that can be done, but just get out of the way. It is ridiculously long (geographically) and ridiculously loud. I ran into it one year trying to travel from Bryant Park to the UES. It was impossible to get around it. It is still impossible for me to unsee some of the things I saw---I'm talking about 300 pounders in tube tops.
All ethnic pride parades are idiotic. St. Patrick's Day, Columbus Day, and so on. It'd be nice to kill them all, but idiots rule the world, and NYC is no exception.
I don't believe so. Not anymore, many have moved out to Long Island or to northeastern Pennsylvania (Allentown et al).
People have to understand that in 2015, aside from the Spanish language, Puerto Ricans are 100% Americanized. 95% of voters favor a status within the US federal system. The rest of Latin America sees them as Spanish speaking Gringos for pete's sake.

Does anyone happen to have the statistics for number of Puerto Ricans vs Dominicans in NYC? I still believe that there are more Puerto Ricans than Dominicans in NYC as of now.
It's an estimate and qualified by "may outnumber". Also, in the metro area Puerto Ricans are still more numerous. The estimate above reflects only the population within NYC.

So there may be more Dominicans in NYC now, but there are still many Puerto Ricans. Also, this seems to reflect more Dominicans moving in rather than Puerto Ricans moving out.
I call bullcrap. Please post links to cite the evidence where you received this information. Otherwise you are just talking out of your ***. PR is definitely struggling but I think some of those posted are highly questionable...
Guess it wasn't bullcrap about PR huh.
