Grand Central Terminal's Vanderbilt Hall may become food hall: MTA

Read more: Grand Central Terminal's Vanderbilt Hall may become food hall: MTA - NY Daily News

The MTA has been doing a good job with leasing out it's properties and developing it's real estate. Because Grand Central is in such a central location any food court will do well here. And due to the location the MTA can hold out for quite a bit of money. They have high end businesses such as the Apple Store and Shake Shack.

Considering the hordes of rats in GCT don't care if they are serving steak dinners for free, wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.

For the record used to work in the MET Life/Pan Am building and was very pally with the maintenance staff and GCT workers. All will confirm about the rats down there.

A few years ago there was a news story about one of the food shops in GCT. Responding to a tip media went there after hours to find the place swarming with rats clearly seen from the windows. Much like the infamous KFC on Sixth Avenue infestation that made worldwide media.

Don't they have enough places to eat and buy deli in GC?
Can't anything be appreciated for quiet beauty without another asphole trying to make a buck off it?

Christ, I'm surprised they don't have take-out service in the Sistine Chapel.

What nonsense is this? It's NYC! The center of commerce for the US! Why on earth wouldn't they rent out all available space in GC and for that matter all available MTA space (since the MTA is always talking about it's financial needs).

Really not that different from any regular above ground restaurant in NYC that keeps food or food preparation items in a cellar space and there are plenty of those.

RATS are all over NYC. So then you shouldn't have any issue eating in GCT.
