Any borough, any cuisine. There's a lot out there with some being better known than others like the well-known halal guys in midtown, mamoun's falafels, xian famous foods, or grey's papaya. What are your favorite recommendations?

The Halal Guys on 53rd and 6th Avenue. These guys also give good portions for 6 bucks. Their was also an Western Chinese Halal bbq food stand near Flushing Queens by Roosevelt, Im not sure if its still their? The food was very delicious. Also a West Indian Food Truck on Pelham Parkway right outside of Jacobi Hospital.
WOK 88...88th and Third...Eggplant with Shrimp, House Special Chicken, and anything else...before 4:00. Huge portions under $8 with soup and fried rice.
BALUCCI'S...89th and Second, Lamb Vindaloo, Lamb Jalfrezi...before 2:45
A JIAO...94th and Second...before 4. Very pretty and delicious Chinese.
ENTHAICE...89th and Third...before 4.
MEE NOODLE HOUSE...53rd and Ninth.
(And I second SOPHIE'S on 45th.)
All these restaurants, except Sophie's and Mee cost a great deal more than $10 at dinner.
Many restaurants in Queens have lunch specials under $10. One of my favorite ones is Bamboo Ya on Queens Blvd in Rego Park.
We'll give it a try as soon as we get out to Rego Park next.
The menu sounds almost identical to one we like up here:
TENZAN at 89th and Third.
(Yummy salmon teriyaki)
