I am struck by the number of homeless black men in Manhattan. Has anyone else noticed this very sad occurrence? What can be done to help?

Are there any shelters in NYC that cater to men in need of assistance.

Why are you discriminating against the homeless of other races? They need help too.

no wonder the politicians in nyc are getting so motivated to change the nyc shs admission. Hopefully in the foreseeable future, you will see equal amount of asian, black, latuno and caucassian homeless ppl.

I'm not discriminating. Anyone who lives or works in Manhattan should notice the plethora of homeless black men in the area.

There are so many reasons. Most of it is beyond their control. Some of them are homeless just a lot of white youths you see homeless in this city. And the shelter aren't the best options for because of the conditions there coupled with fact that a lot of shelters in this city aren't safe. They would rather stay on the street than to take their chances at a shelter.
