I had an interview for 1133 a few weeks ago after applying for a 2BR unit. This was my first-ever application to mixed-income / affordable housing, and hence also my first interview. We felt like we'd hit the jackpot... we do live in the neighborhood already too. Basically, the interview was a meeting to fill in more paperwork, no personal questions - not what I expected but I see now that I should have.
A few questions regarding the post-interview stage of the selection process for units in a 50/30/20 building, or a request for direction to a resource if that's easier:
1. How much subjectivity is involved in this part? Could we be rejected if our incomes are significantly lower than other candidates' who make closer to the 175% AMI top income limit for these "affordable housing" units, and these people are more appealing to the building management? Or does it matter more that we provided the full documentation as requested, have a good credit score and no background check red flags (fingers crossed), and meet the minimum income requirements for a 2BR?
2. Is there a chance that they'd try to offer us a 1BR instead, or are you only eligible for the size you applied to in the original application?
Having zero experience with this, I turn to this board for a little hope or advice.
I haven't been contacted yet either and my log no. Is in the low 400's I don't know when they will start contacting people but I don't have community board preference what ever that is do they need to fulfill those CB slots first then move on to other people?? What is CBP?

Community board preference it means people who live in and near the area will get call for the apartment before even if they have a higher log number than you.

Thanks so much!
I can't really speak to question #1, I would hope that they would process them by log #'s or by who submits all the necessary paperwork in a timely manner first.
As for #2, I think if you qualify for both they would consider you for both. They should have asked you at the interview if you'd be interested in 1br also.
@pezme
When was your interview scheduled for if you don't mind me asking as well? Also, can you relay the information that was given to you by the building (i.e. what the process is like and how long it takes to be verified)? Have they given you any updates as of yet? I want to know what to expect for my upcoming interview.
I was recently contacted for an upcoming interview at 1133 Manhattan Ave. As you said, to have a low log # is best but surprisingly I got called in for an interview with a high log #. My log # is in the 55,000s. I can't even believe they set me up with an interview despite such a high log # but I am guessing that is the value of having community preference on my side. I am going in eyes wide open though. With such a high #, i'm expecting a curveball somewhere in there. What do you think? Do I have some type of a chance? Might I be wait-listed?
