FYI, just make sure all you iphone users download "Find my iPhone" app and have a passcode enabled.
If a kid swipes your iphone, just immediately call the police and tell them you have the app and they will need your Apple ID, phone number and that's it. They can track down the iphone's whereabouts if the thieves have not turned off the iphone. If the police have not tracked down the iphone call your phone service and they will blacklist the phone for you.
Good advice that everyone with an Iphone should follow.
For the record it isn't just thug kids stealing IPhones. Have lost count of how many have "seen" stolen in clubs, bars, malls, shops, etc... Peeps put them down for "moment" and then the things are gone. Since children aren't allowed at some of the aforementioned joints it must be adults.
Worse are females that put their purses under chairs or the table at a club or restaurant. Yes, you guessed it later when someone reaches down... nothing is there. That or their phone and perhaps wallet is gone. Ladies that game has been going on at least since the 1970's! Smarten up! *LOL*
Because of you your neighborhood became just a little bit more safe. Most law abiding native New Yorkers are numb when it comes to those things and just take it for what it is and may not even call the cops after being victimize. Applause
I wouldn't take safety these days for a grain of salt. Even though murders are down city wide and nation wide, petty crime and tech crime is becoming more predominant and dangerous these days. In the cities hip and gentry areas, plenty of petty crime goes on in these areas, most notably robberies and burglaries. Suburbanites who move to these areas need to realize that they are not in Kansas anymore and they are actually in a city that still has high crime.
IPhone 6 comes out next month which its rumored to have a bigger screen than most android and windows based phones. Their is going to be a huge spike in robberies next month when the iPhone 6 drops here in NYC. When I visit areas like Chelsea, East Village, Fort Green, LIC, like every resident has an iPhone or some apple device which has a huge resale value. If your a career criminal, areas like Williamsburg, LIC, Dumbo, Alphabet City is like Christmas. If I remember correctly there is a pawn shop on 116 street in Harlem, that place had so much stolen iphones that have been traded in by criminals who reside in the area.
This one is just too funny, so the 13 yr old thief was strong enough to knock the 36 yr old to the ground and take her phone but too fat to outrun her and got chased down and held until the cops showed up to arrest him.
Better put that extra large soda down next time.
Hope that thug gets what he deserves! She should have beat his ass!
Yeah the post obviously made them recreate the situation. Kinda dodgy that they are now putting up pics of minors. Kid needs to get his cardio up if he's gonna be a street perp. Maybe this is a lesson form him and it straightens him out.

He should get a mammogram. His right breast might have sustained some damaged from that fist punch...
That photo was so staged- who would do that?? This is why I always look around and am supsicous of everyone with my iphone- young teens, businessmen or old ladies, I view them all with the same suspicion. The mother should not have detracted from her son's actions buy asking why the woman was holding him, she wasn't grabbing his crotch. Maybe it bothered her moreso that the pic looked so staged.
