wow, now that I watched the video, I take it back. Those cops let far too many people push them around. That incident should have ended with multiple ambulances taking illegal immigrants to free hospital stays.

It seemed like a lot of the cops in that video just did not want to get involved. I can't say that I blame them.

I 100% agree with you. No one wants to get involved. Then they are dilly dalling with these people instead of acting swiftly. Everyone is videotaping them. Cursing and trying to make the situation worse. The cops should just shut down! It will never happen though!

You are right. However its not the cops. Its the higher bosses that want this type of enforcement. Then it filters down from them and the street cop gets forced to do this. The cops get jammed up and the idiots who create this policy walk away scott free. Total bs. Half the problem with the Police Department are the quotas. They never stop. A cop that doesn't have his numbers at the end of the month is punished!!!

If I was on the job today I'd let the savages devour themselves and act only if I or one of my brothers needed help.

Let me preface by saying I was arrested two times many years ago. The first time for pot and the second time for drinking too much. I mouthed off a little bit and took a shot to the face. I'm not saying I should have been hit but I can understand why the cop did it. It is not a easy job that they do ,alot of times dealing with people who are aggitated. If a cop asks you to move along or close up your stand because the party is over do it. Maybe its just that Ive gotten older and now respect them and the job they do more now but being argumentitive and disrepectful will not go over well. That being said I understand some cops can be direspectful too,but arguing and fighting with them will just make thing worse.

im not saying

As others have noted, it's pointless to try to do anything. This incident supposedly occurred an hour after the event ended. These vendors had no intention of shutting down.
Daily News does a puff piece on the vendors:
Brooklyn vendor given cheap-shot kick by cop says NYPD needs
I'm surprised not to see Sanford Rubenstein in the background ...

I'm surprised someone didn't fall into the tables & spill all the fruit. Traditional ending.

Hey resist arrest and you have a shot at a nice payday. If you die Rev Al will hug your family and try to get his cut. Bottom line unless there are serious consequences there is no determent to stop people from fighting. I can see exactly what this is. It was mentioned above. They were told their time was up and had to shut down. They said no. They created this. Then you have a cop kick this idiot with the force of a 10 year old girl and he is suspended. New rule,,,tell the police no and fight them,,you get a nightstick across your face. I guarantee this crap would stop. But hey at least our mayor says Sharpton is a man he respects and actually holds him in higher regard than Bratton!!
