You have to explain this concept of AMI to me. It's very confusing.
But anyways, so glad to see you on this forum. Since we last conversed, i got accepted to Q41 and I've moved in. It was such a huge ordeal and total drama. Here is the kicker...The building still has empty units left if my observation serves me right and it's been months since the building has finished construction. Ain't that something after all this time? Talk about disorganized.
I'm loving it and all my neighbors are great. It's like one big party. I'm sorry it didn't work out for you at Q41, but i hope it does at Hunters Point South. I honestly didn't think Q41 would come through or ever happen for me.

The middle income 700 plus units is going to be a madhouse. I just won a middle income lottery and the building only had 108 and it's over a year later and some units are still empty. I feel very blessed, so I cannot complain, but the issue with the middle income one is the price point and I know the selected winners are going to want the best of the best for the price they're paying like the works including a balcony high floor etc. I know in my building, I heard selected winners felt entitled to certain things and demanded it or else they wanted to withdraw. All it did was prolong the process.
For the low income price, no lottery winners should be complaining because a 3 bedroom for under 1K a month in a luxury setting is unheard of especially NYC.

I'm just wondering what happened to the middle income people who make $50k to $80k. Looks like they're out of luck for 2 & 3 brs. I thought the majority of New Yorkers were supposed to be eligible for these apartments.
After the ordeal I endured for my current apartment - I am officially done with applying to apartment lotteries.
I did notice the 50K to 80K bracket for singles were completely shut out of the 1 bedroom sections. It seems like a studio or you have a family and It jumps to 2 or 3 bedrooms. I'm Telling You: Middle income always gets screwed over.
This sounds pretty amazing...just worried re commute to subway as buildings are so huge!
