SeventhFloor is correct most of the posters were not born yet.
You can read the autobiographies of Billie Holiday, Joe Louis, Malcolm X, and Lena Horne they all tell of their exploits on Sugar Hill and Harlem in general. Joe Louis owned a night club and had an apt on Sugar Hill. Malcolm X lived in the area.
Also read works by Wallace Thurman, Claude McKay, and Countee Cullen they all reference the area in their various works.
