Hello,

I am interested in pursuing a career as a paralegal. I start a new job on Monday as a foreclosure paralegal although I do not have a paralegal certificate. However, I have a B.A. degree and extensive foreclosure experience. So now I want to pursue the paralegal certificate so that eventually I can transition out of foreclosure and into another specialty. My question is this...does it matter if the school that I go to is ABA approved or not? I was thinking about going to Pace University because it offers a program on Saturdays and that would be most convenient. But it's not ABA approved. I looked at multiple job postings online to see what employers are asking for and I only saw one that specifically asked that the paralegal certificate be from an ABA approved school. I just don't want to waste my time and money on a worthless program. Which are the best paralegal programs in NYC (preferably Manhattan or Brooklyn)? I was also looking at LIU Brooklyn.

Also, what kind of salary should I expect entry level? After 2 years of experience with a paralegal cert?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
