I'm visiting Manhattan next week and I'd like to visit some sites that are quiet and peaceful. Please recommend your favorite.

To do what? Most people don't come to NYC for quiet.

Normally, the smaller museums might be quiet, but we're hopping with tourists right now. Here's a tip: If you go to the Met Museum, go to the Lehman galleries. For some reason, they're always deserted.

Take a quiet break in any of the big churches, which are usually pretty quiet. Even more true for smaller or more out-of-the-way churches

Visit some attractions in the outer boroughs as I doubt you will find many quiet places in Manhattan!

I like this small museum around W. 155th St. and Broadway, so Upper Manhattan/ Washington Heights area Hispanic Society of America - Washington Heights - New York, NY | Yelp All wood-carved, with beautiful examples of art from the Iberian Peninsula. Few go there; it's kind of a hidden gem on the campus of Boricua College. Check for hours open.

The museum is quiet and peaceful; the surrounding neighborhood is loud, LOL.

Also --This book is chock full of quiet spots in every borough. I'm about to give it as a gift to a family member who seeks out such places for down-time between work appointments all over the city. I just leafed through it in the bookstore; it looked pretty good.
