Agree with this. Unfortunately, news stations are now in the business of creating the news as opposed to reporting on it.

While de Blasio has some good points here, the same could be said of police officers. Most of the time when criminals are apprehended they are not killed. The news media blew this issue out of proportion on both sides of the issue (in order to get ratings). There likely would not even be protesters if there were more honest news coverage AND if the news media were actually interested in having people discuss solutions, as opposed to screaming at each other. So when will the public and politicians hold news media accountable?
I wonder if the NYPD and other police unions could sue news organizations for biased coverage if it leads to more cops getting killed.
